Casa Lia overlooks the hills of the Forest of Conceicao de Tavira with lovely views of the countryside and ocean in the distance. Our Algarve villa with pool near Tavira is just 15 minutes drive from the golden beaches of Manta Rota and the Ihla de Tavira.

There is a real tranquillity about this airy whitewashed villa, set in almost three acres of countryside This rental acccommodation is just 15 minutes' drive from the pretty Roman town of Tavira with its cobbled streets and excellent restaurants.

The area is a golfers' paradise and we have superb Algarve golf courses within 10 or 15 minutes' drive. There is also horse-riding close by and many people enjoy hiking and cycling in the Parque Lazer.
 

The Villa
Dine on the patio overlooking the pool and beautiful countryside. Enjoy fresh local produce prepared on the barbecue.
Choose from three large air-conditioned bedrooms with a double and single bed in each, sleeping a maximum of 6 adults and 3 children.

Modern kitchen.Very well equipped. Brand new oven, gas hob on island, fridge, microwave,coffeemaker, blender, kettle, toaster, bread maker, breakfast bar with 2 stools. Full range of crockery, pots, and utensils. 

Spacious lounge where you will enjoy the satellite TV with Freeview and Sky TV(around 50 English language channels, plus several Portuguese), DVD player and stereo. Casa Lia is cosy with the log burner and gas central heating in the winter. 

Separate dining room seats 6. Access to patio and pool area. Games cupboard with cards, Trivial Pursuits and other games. Supply of holiday reading 

Separate utility room with washing machine, dish washer, dryer and extra fridge/freezer. Iron and ironing board.
There are two bathrooms finished to a high modern specification with beautiful marble.
 

Pool and Patio

Beautiful tear-drop shaped pool with views over the forest and distant views of the sea. 7.6 metres (23ft) in length and 5 metres (15.3 ft) at round part of teardrop. 2.5 metres in depth. 

Our house manager visits twice weekly to maintain the pool. The patio area is sunny, but the large table seating at least 8 is in the shade for long, lazy lunches. There is a speaker outside so you can enjoy your favourite CDs. Barbecue next to pool area. 6 sunloungers, large parasol, swing seat. The setting is tranquil with no close neighbours, no traffic noise and 360 degree views. 

Guests always say that staying at Casa Lia is a really relaxing experience. It's up to you how many of the Algarve's attractions you take advantage of. It is great to have a self-catering holiday home as your base, so that in the warmth of the Alagrve sun you can come and go at your own pace.

Tavira is pretty and unspoilt with cobbled streets and lots of restaurants. It is lively in the summer months, but not crowded,with entertainment in the main square in the evenings. Sit, enjoy an ice cream and watch the world go by before wending your way home to your own Algarve villa. When you get home you might want to enjoy a drink beside the pool before retiring to the comfort of your air conditioned bedroom.

Manta Rota is close by with its good selection of restaurants. In the high season there open air concerts on the beach.

Santa Luzia is a pretty little fishing harbour with great fish restaurants on the harbour.

Golf

There are 5 superb 18 hole golf courses located within a 15-20 min drive from the villa making it especially suitable for golfing holidays,

Benamor Golf Course

The course is laid out on mainly undulating land the course offers pleasant views both to the Atlantic Ocean and the hills of the Serra do Caldeirão. Players accuracy is particularly called upon by the architects retention of as many of the old trees as feasible. These natural obstacles coupled with strategic placed bunkers and occasional water hazards make the course a worthwhile challenge.

Quinta da Ria Golf Course is a 10 min drive,18 holes, but a par 72, 6,110m.
A course designed by Rocky Roquemore to take advantage of the beautiful natural setting in a Nature Reserve with the blue sea as its southern boundary. A 475 meter par-5 hole sets the tone of the course taking the player down a gentle slope to the first of the several undulating green. The par-3 fifth hole is a challenging dogleg to the left with a lake to catch the short ball. The back nine takes the player close to the beach and the panoramic sea views.

Quinta de Cima is again a 10 min drive away with 18 holes, par 72, 6256m
This new sister course to Quinta da Ria is of a Championship character which will provide an enjoyable challenge for most players. Set in rolling land dotted with almond trees it provides open fairways, well placed bunkers and enough water to attract the odd misdirected golf ball.

Castro Marim Golf Course 20 min drive - 18 hole, par 71, 5265m.
The Atlantic Course at Castro Marim just over the Portuguese border from Spain has spectacular views of the Algarvian Mountains, the Atlantic Ocean, the Guadiana River and the Castro Marim nature reserve. Perched high on a hillside, the course has been cleverly carved out of the local topography. This superb course with its lightning greens rewards accurate, rather than long, play from the tee. A great golfing challenge
 

Monte Rei Golf and Country Club - 15 minutes drive away
The first of two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses - "Monte Rei North" - opened for play in June 2007. This par 72 Championship measures 6567m from the Tournament tees is a truly unique design; with water coming into play on eleven of the eighteen holes, the golf course features an enjoyable series of eight par-4s, five par-3s and five par-5s in a challenging and distinctive layout.
