Can Font de Muntanya Bed and Breakfast near Emporda and Peralada Golf Course, Costa Brava

Between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea lies a land of exquisite natural beauty. The region is Baix Emporda and it is here set on a mountainside in 300 acres of private forest that you will find Can Font de Muntanya, an 18th century stone farmhouse  (masia) which has been lovingly restored and converted into a stylish and elegant bed and Breakfast.

Its location makes it unique, and the views from the house are breathtaking. To the east, the glorious rolling countryside down to the sea and to the west, the spectacular snow capped Pyrenees. In fact from Can Font you can see most of the coastline of the Costa Brava, hence its truly stunning position.

Here you will experience peace and tranquility surrounded by nature, and yet it takes only 10 minutes to reach the nearest village.

It is a place to dream, reflect and be inspired, to experience a truly peaceful nights sleep and wake up to a delicious breakfast.

We have a new 10m x 5m traditionally hand tiled swimming pool. It has a saline filtering system, so no nasty chlorine!

Rooms
There are 6 double bedrooms, 1 triple bedroom and 1 twin bedroom at Can Font. 4 of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. All the rooms are spacious, retaining original features such as exposed wooden beams or fireplaces. Beds are king size, linen is Egyptian cotton, and each bedroom has been individually decorated and furnished with sumptuous textiles and antiques from our travels in India and Africa. We can provide a cot or an extra bed for some rooms.

WINING & DINING  The house primarily operates on a bed and breakfast basis, but we will be happy to cook dinner on request. We use fresh local and seasonal produce and pride ourselves on our interesting and tasty food.
We have a dining room inside the house and a charming outside dining area looking out to the forest and sea beyond. Feel free to relax here with a book or a glass of wine, soak up the sun and the magnificent views.

MOROCCAN TENT  We have a huge Moroccan tent at one side of the house, and it provides another space for our guests to use. Come and have tea or an after dinner drink here!  Sometimes on summer weekends, we play music there in the evening and there are spectacular moonrises over the mountain.
LIVING ROOM AND FAMILY ROOM  The living room is a quiet central communal area, there are books here, and in the family room there are various board games, backgammon, darts, chess etc, all for guests to enjoy

BEACHES  The local beaches are renowned to be some of the Costa Brava’s finest. No big hotels or high-rise apartment blocks here!
The picturesque bays of Sa Riera or Aguablava near Begur, the crystalline waters of Tamariu or Calella or the wild beach at Castell, there is so much choice, and there is also great snorkeling and diving at Illes Medes.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES include: Horse riding, ballooning, wind surfing, diving and golf. There are several world-class golf courses in the area.

Emporda Golf Club
The Emporda Golf Club consists of three various courses 9 holes: Each three can be independently played or in combination with one of two others, forming one 18 holes.  The competition course, where most important tournaments of the club are held, is formed by the Green and Blue courses. They are characterized by a wide surface of greens, what allows a big variety of positions of the flag, giving the course numerous game possibilities.

Peralada Golf Course
The most northerly course, Club de Golf Peralada  provides an open landscape with olive trees. The course is always in good condition and the 5* complex with wine spa can make for an enjoyable day trip.

Golf D'Aro Mas Nou
Placed on the heights of the Les Gavarres hills, at 300 metres above the sea, the golf offers a magnificent panoramic sight on the surrounding campaign. Built in 1990 and drawn by D. Ramon Espinosa, the course takes place in the middle of pines, of oaks and more than hundred olive trees. Two artificial lakes add to the unique charm of this golf course.

Costa Brava Golf Club
The club is situated in St. Cristina d' Aro ( Girona), at only 4 km from the beaches of Aro and Saint Feliu de Guixols, in the heart of a generous and varied Mediterranean vegetation. Built in 1968, the golf course was drawn by Hamilton Stutt and CO. It offers the first 9 technical holes surrounded by pines and oaks, followed by 9 holes which take place on a flat ground with wide fairways

Platja de Pals
What you can say about the course of Pals is as high as its reputation. Situated among pines, in a context of tranquillity, with a regular arrangement and a certain flexibility with the tees, it is above all a very attractive course at all the levels. The ground, which is sandy, sucks up very quickly the rain, what makes it as comfortable as a carpet.

Serres des Pals
Surrounded by magnificent landscapes, it gathers the best conditions to practise golf under the so pleasant Mediterranean Sea climate. It possesses three different zones consisted of sweet sloping hills, pine forests and fairways twisting between lakes
