CASA MIGDIA HOTEL
Sant Jordi Desvalls, Girona

Casa Migdia is an old rectory (parish priest residence) of the 18th century that has been restored and converted into a pleasant and quiet rural hotel. It’s located in Sant Jordi Desvalls, a medieval hamlet 20 minutes away from Girona, ensconced within the green and lush region of the Ampurdán.

The house has 5 bedrooms among which one could highlight La Carmen, with a private terrace full of flowers and plants that can be used as a solarium; an old-fashioned bath tub with claw legs; and a floor of Moroccan tiles – all have flat-screen TV, DVD and Wi-Fi. From Reception, with the typical Catalan vaulted ceiling, two staircases take us to the bedrooms and a sitting room with several snug sofas around a fireplace where winter evenings can be spent chatting or reading the books from the library. Nearby there’s an spacious dining room for 20 people where you can tell that this used to be a rectory – and a bar leading to the garden, where we can have breakfast or a relaxed drink.

We have the pleasure to open the doors of the Casa Migdia, situated in the middle of the village Sant Jordi Desvalls, at 15 kilometers away from Gerona and 20 kilometers from the beaches.

The Casa Migdia was inaugurated the November 3rd 2007 and is opened since the month of December 2007.

We fell under the charm of this part of the Catalonia a few years ago.  We then had the luck of finding a beautiful stone house,big enough so that we could live there and restore a part so that we could make a hotel.

We hope that you fill yourself at our place as well as at yours and we are very happy to make you discover all the beauty of our adoptive region.

The house has many facets: In the garden, four large stone walls have been patiently restored.  From the street, the old ornamentations of the coating can still be seen. In the spring, the Virginia creeper wraps itself around the walls.  The house's main access is from the street. Another access from the garden allows visitors to go out for a ride by bike.

The restaurant and the bar: The restaurant is in two old vaulted rooms in which the architeture reminds us that it used to be an old presbytery. A fire place of Moorish inspiration has been constructed there.  We can receive around twenty guests for dinner.At the far end of the room, the bar opens onto the garden where breakfast is served.

Breakfast: We offer you a large amount of homemade jam and cakes, fresh fruit juices, farm eggs, charcuterie, cheese and hot beverages. Every morning from 8h30 to 10h30.

Diner: Mediteranean food, with seasonal products from the market or the garden. Friendly and refined. French, Argentinian and Spanish wine selection.
Bar: In the bar room or on the terrasse, enjoy our cocktails (mojito, caïpirinha, margarita...), fresh fruit juices, mint tea , wines, champagnes...
Supplementary services

You can also go there and relax for a drink at the bar or a game of table football.
Made light a small flat, this room receive a beautifull light during the day.  Plasma TV, DvD player, wifi.

Located north of the city, Golf Girona was designed by Fred Hawtree and opened in 1991. A hilly course with forests and ravines to punish any wayward shot. The elevated clubhouse enjoys panoramic views of the course and surrounding area.

PGA Cataluyna Golf Course
PGA Golf de Catalunya is a European Tour Course designed by Neil Coles and Angel Gallardo. The 36 holes have a challenging layout, winding through the forests of the Girona hills. Fir trees and heather line the rolling fairways to large island greens.

Emporda Golf Course
A top quality 36 hole complex, Empordà Golf offers 18 holes of forest layout and 18 holes of links/lakes style. The great all year round condition and the different feel of each design, make two rounds at Emporda a good option.

Torremirona Golf Course
The exclusive golf club, designed and looked after down to the last detail, has a “Championship course” of 18 holes (par 72). During the course you will find outstanding lakes, wide greens and breathtaking views

Platja de Pals Golf Course
Golf Platja de Pals was the first course to be built in this area In 1966 and has since hosted many National and PGA Tournaments, including the Professional Ladies Catalan Masters in 2005. The narrow fairways cut out of the extensive pine forest make this course the ultimate test of accuracy.

Serres des Pals Course
Although close to Golf Empordà and Platja de Pals in the Baix Emporda, Golf Serres de Pals has a uniquely different feel with open countryside views across to the medieval village of Pals. The natural terrain, large lakes and quiet golf course environment attract more species of birds than the local nature reserves.

Peralada Golf Course
The most northerly course, Club de Golf Peralada  provides an open landscape with olive trees. The course is always in good condition and the 5* complex with wine spa can make for an enjoyable day trip.

Costa Brava Golf Club
Club de golf Costa Brava is a British designed course lined with pines and cork oaks. The clubhouse is an 1841 Catalan farmhouse.
